The One21seventy CQI cycle
The One21seventy CQI cycle is implemented over a twelve-month period. The activities undertaken within the cycle assist health centres to understand and demonstrate the quality of their care processes and health outcomes.

Steps 1-5 should take less than three months to complete; health centres then implement their goals and actions over the remainder of the year.

Step One: Signed Agreement

Step Two: Orientation/Training
- 2 day Foundation Training course for CQI Staff
- Simple, user friendly One21seventy manual
- Telephone and email helpdesk

- Prepared, educated and supported workforce
Step Three: Data Collection: Clinical Audits, Systems Assessment, and Health Centre and Community Survey
- A suite of clinical audit tools
- Efficient sampling processes
- Simple protocols for each tool
- Systems Assessment Tool
- Secure data management / storage system
Step Four: Data Analysis and Reporting
- An interactive website
- Direct data entry
- Immediate data analysis
- Prompt data reporting
Step Five: Participatory Interpretation, Goal Setting and Action Planning
- Training and support in goal setting and action planning
- Templates and resources for goal setting and action planning
- Website entry, storage and update of actions and goals
- Negotiated facilitation services throughout cycle
Step Six: Implementation
- Regular telephone support to CQI staff
- Membership in a professional network of primary health care centres, providers and CQI staff
